2 When the woes of life o’ertake me, hopes deceive, and fears annoy, never shall the cross forsake me. Lo! it glows with peace and joy.

Jesus we know, and He is on the throne.
5 Peace, perfect peace, death shadows us and ours? Jesus has vanquished death and all its pow’rs.
6 It is enough; earth’s struggles soon shall cease, and Jesus, call to heav’n’s perfect peace.
