We’ll Understand it Better By and By

We’ll Understand it Better By and By – Instrumental
Will understand it better by and by – NRUMC 3/16/25

1 We are often tossed and driv’n on the restless sea of time; Somber skies and howling tempests oft succeed a bright sunshine; In that land of perfect day, when the mists have rolled away, We will understand it better by and by. Refrain: By and by, when the morning comes, All the saints of G-d are gathered home, We will tell the story how we’ve overcome, We will understand it better by and by.
2 We are often destitute of the things that life demands; Want of food and want of shelter, thirsty hills and barren lands; We are trusting in the Lord, and according to his Word, We will understand it better by and by. [Refrain]
3 Trials dark on ev’ry hand and we cannot understand All the ways that G-d would lead us to that blessed Promised Land, But he guides us with his eye, and we’ll follow till we die, For we’ll understand it better by and by. [Refrain]
4 Temptations, hidden snares often take us unaware, And our hearts are made to bleed for a tho’tless word or deed, And we wonder why the test when we try to do our best, But we’ll understand it better by and by. [Refrain]

Lord, Listen To Your Children

On bended knee with needy hearts we come and pray. Lord, listen to your children. (X2)
With simple words of heartfelt thanks we come. Believing in your promises, we come.
On bended knee with needy hearts we come and pray. Lord, listen to your children, listen to your children.

Jesus, Lover of My Soul

1 Jesus, lover of my soul, let me to thy bosom fly, while the nearer waters roll, while the tempest still is high; hide me, O my Savior, hide, till the storm of life is past; safe into the haven guide, O receive my soul at last!
2 Other refuge have I none; hangs my helpless soul on thee; leave, ah! leave me not alone, still support and comfort me. All my trust on thee is stayed, all my help from thee I bring; cover my defenseless head with the shadow of thy wing.
3 Thou, o Christ, art all I want, more than all in Thee I find; raise the fallen, cheer the faint, heal the sick, and lead the blind. Just and holy is Thy name, I am all unrighteousness; false and full of sin, I am; thou art full of truth and grace.
4 Plenteous grace with thee is found, grace to cover all my sin; let the healing streams abound; make and keep me pure within. Thou of life the fountain art; freely let me take of thee; spring thou up within my heart, rise to all eternity.

Lead On, O King Eternal (UMH 580)

Lead O King Eternal- NRUMC 3/8/25

1 Lead on, O King eternal, the day of march has come; henceforth in fields of conquest your tents will be our home. Through days of preparation your grace has made us strong; and now, O King eternal, we lift our battle song.
2 Lead on, O King eternal, till sin’s fierce war shall cease, and holiness shall whisper the sweet amen of peace. For not with swords’ loud clashing or roll of stirring drums with deeds of love and mercy the heavenly kingdom comes.
3 Lead on, O King eternal; we follow, not with fears, for gladness breaks like morning where’er your face appears. Your cross is lifted o’er us, we journey in its light; the crown awaits the conquest; lead on, O G-d of might.

It’s a highway to heaven, I am walking up the King’s highway.

2 Don’t have to worry, Don’t have to hurry, walking up the King‘s highway. Christ walks beside me, angels to guide me, walking up the King‘s highway. [Refrain]
3 If you’re not walking, start while I’m talking, walking up the King‘s highway. There’ll be a blessing, you’ll be possessing, walking up the King‘s highway. [Refrain]

There’s Something About That Name

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus; there’s just something about that name. Master, Savior, Jesus, like the fragrance after the rain; Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, let all Heaven and earth proclaim Kings and kingdoms will all pass away, But there’s something about that name. Kings and kingdoms will all pass away, But there’s something about that name.

All Praise To Our Redeeming Lord

All Praises To Our Redeeming Lord – NRUMC 1-19-25

1 All praise to our redeeming Lord, who joins us by his grace, and bids us, each to each restored, together seek his face.
2 He bids us build each other up; and, gathered into one, to our high calling’s glorious hope we hand in hand go on.
3 The gift which he on one bestows, we all delight to prove; the grace through every vessel flows, in purest streams of love.
4 Ev’n now we think and speak the same, and cordially agree; concentred all, through Jesus’ name, in perfect harmony.
5 We all partake the joy of one, the common peace we feel, a peace to sensual minds unknown, a joy unspeakable.
6 And if our fellowship below in Jesus be so sweet, what heights of rapture shall we know when round his throne we meet!

In Unity We Lift Our Song

In Unity We Lift Our Song – NRUMC 1/19/25

1 In unity we lift our song of grateful adoration, for brothers brave and sisters strong; what cause for celebration! For those whose faithfulness has kept us through distress, who’ve shared with us our plight, who’ve held us in the night, the blessed congregation.
2 For stories told and told again to every generation, to give us strength in time of pain, to give us consolation. Our spirits to revive, to keep our dreams alive, when we are far from home and evil seasons come; how firm is our foundation.
3 For sacred scriptures handed down, a blessed trust and treasure, which give us hope when hope is gone and make us weep with pleasure. And when our eyes grow blind and death is close behind, we shall recite them still, whose words our hearts can fill with hope beyond all measure.
4 For God our way, our bread, our rest, of all these gifts the Giver. Our strength, our guide, our nurturing breast, whose hand will yet deliver. Who keeps us till the day when night shall pass away, when hate and fear are gone and all our work is done, and we shall sing forever.

Together We Serve

Together We Serve – NRUMC 1/19/25

1 Together we serve, united by love, inviting God’s world to the glorious feast. We work and we pray through sorrow and joy, extending God’s love to the last and the least.
2 We seek to become a beacon of hope, a lamp for the heart and a light for the feet. We learn, year by year, to let love shine through until we see Christ in each person we meet.
3 We welcome the scarred, the wealthy, the poor, the busy, the lonely, and all who need care. We offer a home to those who will come, our hands quick to help, our hearts ready to dare.
4 Together, by grace, we witness and work, remembering Jesus, in whom we grow strong. Together we serve in Spirit and truth, remembering love is the strength of our song.
