1. Thou my everlasting portion, more than friend or life to me, all along my pilgrim journey, Savior, let me walk with thee. Close to thee (x4) all along my pilgrim journey, Savior, let me walk with thee.
2. Not for ease or worldly pleasure, nor for fame my prayer shall be; gladly will I toil and suffer, only let me walk with thee. Close to thee (x4) gladly will I toil and suffer, only let me walk with thee.
3. Lead me through the vale of shadows, bear me o’er life’s fitful sea; then the gate of life eternal may I enter, Lord, with thee. Close to thee (x4) then the gate of life eternal may I enter, Lord, with thee.
1. More love to thee, O Christ, more love to thee! Hear thou the prayer I make on bended knee. This is my earnest plea: REFRAIN: More love, O Christ, to thee; more love to thee, more love to thee! 2. Once earthly joy I craved, sought peace and rest; now thee alone I seek, give what is best. This all my prayer shall be: (Refrain) 3. Let sorrow do its work, come grief and pain; sweet are thy messengers, sweet their refrain, when they can sing with me:(Refrain) 4. Then shall my latest breath whisper thy praise; this be the parting cry my heart shall raise; this still its prayer shall be: (Refrain)
1. The church’s one foundation is Jesus Christ her Lord; she is his new creation by water and the Word. From heaven he came and sought her to be his holy bride; with his own blood he bought her, and for her life he died.
2. Elect from every nation, yet one o’er all the earth; her charter of salvation, one Lord, one faith, one birth; one holy name she blesses, partakes one holy food, and to one hope she presses, with every grace endued.
3. Though with a scornful wonder we see her sore oppressed, by schisms rent asunder, by heresies distressed, yet saints their watch are keeping; their cry goes up, “How long?” And soon the night of weeping shall be the morn of song.
4. Mid toil and tribulation, and tumult of her war, she waits the consummation of peace forevermore; till, with the vision glorious, her longing eyes are blest, and the great church victorious shall be the church at rest.
5. Yet she on earth hath union with God the Three in One, and mystic sweet communion with those whose rest is won. O happy ones and holy! Lord, give us grace that we like them, the meek and lowly, on high may dwell with thee.
1 Precious Lord, take my hand. Lead me on, let me stand, I am tired, I am weak, I am worn; through the storm, through the night, Lead me on to the light: Take my hand, precious Lord, lead me home. 2 When my way grows drear, Precious Lord, linger near, when my life is almost gone, hear my cry, hear my call, hold my hand lest I fall: take my hand, precious Lord, lead me home. 3 When the darkness appears and the night draws near, and the day is past and gone, at the river I stand, guide my feet, hold my hand: take my hand, precious Lord, lead me home.
